The past weekend at the 24th South African Music Awards simply called the SAMAs, was all glitz and glamour for the stars, the politicians and other key players in the industry which would include us; ‘the media’.
We’ve put together a few visuals that would take you through the journey, with a focus on the night of the broadcast awards red carpet looks.
Jessica Mbangeni was certainly our fav! what with all the feathers!
Shane Eagle – who walked away with best hip-hop album of the year was the icebreaker for the first night.
Fast forward to the star-studded main night, Riky Rick took all our minds away.
Congolese-born South African rapper Rouge got all the ahhs and uhhs as she brought her mother as her date to the awards. Gloriously dressed as the African Queen she obviously is, mama Rouge had the previous night picked up her daughter’s award for video of the year.
Still keeping it in the family, Emtee stays adorable each time he steps out with the little one and Saturday was no different, all casual like they paid no mind at all, they were certainly crowd pleasers.
Other stunners included Moozlie the Young MaBrrr drapped in gold.
Shekhinah with the calm just before she swept away the biggest awards of the night,
and Sun EL musician before walking away with a total of 3 nods at the end of the night.
While we attended the event as media, we spent most of our time trying to steal a holiday… check out our next write up on just how much treasures we found. From the palace of the lost city to losing our money trying to win some in the casino, to late night rule breaking…the SAMAs was an experience.
