South Africa’s buzzing sensation, Ricky Tyler makes his 2nd coming with “Happy 2 Be Alive”. The sophomore album produced by talented award winning duo; “PLXYGRND” builds on “Small World”, his 2020 debut. This time, with more flair.

The delivery is soothing, like a firm hug. The storytelling, warm and familiar, like hearing a diary being read out loud. His writing style keeps you engaged till the last beat drop. Like on Sunday Drive with Tellaman.

On “H2BA”, Tyler is advocating for his recognition as a talented genre-fluid artist as he mixes rnb, hip-hop, classic pop, electronic, and a dazzle of African rhythms.

The title “Happy 2 Be Alive” is indicative of the themes he explores across the 10 tracks. Giving listeners a peak of his personal journey, Tyler addresses the feeling of gratitude, recounting grief and frustration.

Just as he genre blends, he mixes things up on collaborations too, with Bien on Another Episode, Karun on Video Games, Vuyina on Finally Famous, and Tyson Sabetlli on No More Discos, H2BA is one for the replay button.
